Gardeners and tree surgeons in Ribchester

Ribchester is a conservation village with old stone properties, mature trees and hedges along the lanes and river. Tree surgery, hedge cutting, garden maintenance and power washing, with free quotes and everything cleared away afterwards.

Ribchester

What we get called out to in Ribchester

Village conservation area rules apply to a lot of the tree work here, and older properties bring access constraints — narrow entries, cobbles and walls you do not want a chipper reversing into.

  • Conservation area tree work with notice given first
  • Riverside and lane-side boundary clearance
  • Careful access work on older stone properties
  • Path, wall and patio cleaning

None of that is a fixed menu — if what you need is not on it, ring and ask. If it is a job we should not be doing, we will tell you that too.

Protected trees in Ribchester

Tree work in Ribchester comes under Ribble Valley Borough Council. If a tree has a Tree Preservation Order on it, you need their written consent before any cutting. If the property is in a conservation area, they need six weeks' written notice before the work starts.

We check which applies to your address as part of quoting, and we will not cut a protected tree without the paperwork being right. It is a criminal offence, and the fine lands on the householder as well as the contractor.

Hedge work between March and August

Nesting season. We check the hedge before starting and leave any section with an active nest in it, then come back for the rest once they have fledged. That applies in Ribchester the same as everywhere else — it is the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, not a preference.
